Sesame Brussel Sprouts Stir-Fry
No more excuses for not liking Brussel sprouts – this recipe is not only delicious but also super simple and can be whipped up in about 10 minutes. The minimal seasonings enhance the nutty flavor of Brussel sprouts while mellowing out the slight bitterness of the sprouts. This superfood can be served with some grilled meat or a piece of fish.
Ingredients
- 4 cups Brussel sprouts stems removed & shredded in a food processer
- 2 cloves garlic sliced
- 1 ½ tsp crushed red pepper
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 ½ tbsp olive oil
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a wok or a heavy bottomed skillet on medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute or until the garlic is golden brown. Then add the crushed red pepper and the sesame seeds. Let the mixture sizzle for about 5 seconds and then add the Brussel sprouts. Add salt to taste. Stir fry everything until the sprouts are coated with all the spices and the oil.
- Keep stirring on medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes. Turn the heat off and serve hot.
